METRONET Thornlie-Cockburn Link opening
DT Infrastructure is proud to be part of a major new chapter for Perth, with the METRONET Thornlie-Cockburn Link officially opening in June — a milestone achievement for the NEWest Alliance of DT Infrastructure, CPB Contractors and the Public Transport Authority.

Reflecting on what this achievement means for DTI, DT Infrastructure CEO John Anderson said: “DTI has further strengthened its position as a leading partner in delivering rail infrastructure for Australia. A key part of this project’s success was our ability to integrate new infrastructure with existing networks, something we’ve consistently delivered across the country. Combined with our construction leadership and history of success on complex projects, this achievement showcases the capability we bring to rail delivery.”
Cormac Brady, DT Infrastructure’s Western Australian General Manager, also acknowledged the team’s efforts. “DTI’s contribution to this project has been outstanding. As one of Perth’s largest projects in recent years, it’s another example of our expertise delivering major transport infrastructure and contributing to this great city by providing more connections across Perth."
Awarded in late 2019, the delivery involved the construction of the 17 kilometre Thornlie-Cockburn Link, including new stations at Nicholson Road and Ranford Road, upgrades to Thornlie, Cockburn Central and Perth Stadium stations and a direct connection from the Mandurah Line to Optus Stadium.

NEWest Alliance Construction Director Tony Radalj praised the team’s dedication and commitment throughout the project. “Every member of the NEWest Alliance has been instrumental in delivering this transformative project, and I’m immensely proud of the hard work and effort that brought it to life,” he said.
That pride was shared by the tens of thousands of community members who turned out to celebrate the opening in early June, just ahead of the first services running the following day. Among those marking the occasion were Western Australia’s Premier Roger Cook, Deputy Premier and Minister for Transport the Hon Rita Saffioti, Peter Woronzow, CEO and Director General – Transport at the Public Transport Authority, DT Infrastructure CEO John Anderson, Cormac Brady and members of the NEWest Alliance.
