DT Infrastructure to deliver Goulburn River solar farm for Lightsource bp
DT Infrastructure (DTI) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the contract to deliver the Goulburn River solar farm in the Upper Hunter region of NSW by Lightsource bp.
DTI will deliver a comprehensive scope of works including civil, structural and electrical infrastructure to enable connection of the solar farm to the grid.
Once operational, Goulburn River’s 585MWp capacity will generate enough renewable energy to power approximately 225,000 homes, providing a significant source of renewable energy to New South Wales energy users.
It is also expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 910,000 tonnes each year, playing a significant role in supporting Australia’s energy transition goals.
DTI Chief Executive Officer, John Anderson, said the Goulburn River project is a fantastic example of New South Wales continuing its significant investment in renewable energy.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Lightsource bp on the Goulburn River solar farm. We look forward to contributing our expertise in delivering best-in-class renewable energy solutions and driving positive outcomes for the local community, the energy sector and Australia’s carbon reduction targets,” he said.
“The Goulburn River solar farm will provide huge benefits in terms of renewable energy supply and economic outcomes for the state.”
Wayne Goodwin, Country Head, Australia, at Lightsource bp said: "DT Infrastructure’s role in the Goulburn River solar farm marks an important milestone for the project. Their expertise and participation will make an important contribution to helping us advance towards delivering renewable, reliable, and affordable energy to thousands of homes, while supporting Australia’s energy transition.”
