DT Infrastructure (DTI) has been awarded the design and construct contracts to deliver major accessibility and station improvement works at Rockhampton and Bundaberg stations for Queensland Rail.

The regional station upgrades will significantly enhance the accessibility, safety and customer experience at two of Queensland’s key regional rail hubs, providing inclusive and improved access to rail services for daily commuters and visitors.

John Anderson, DTI Chief Executive Officer, said the contract award reinforces DTI’s position as a trusted delivery partner for complex rail infrastructure projects across Australia.

“We are proud to partner with Queensland Rail to deliver these important regional station upgrades for Queensland communities.

“These upgrades will improve accessibility and the passenger experience while preserving the critical role these regional hubs play in connecting people and communities across the state.

“With our strong track record in delivering complex rail infrastructure, we look forward to working closely with Queensland Rail and local stakeholders to bring lasting benefits to the region.”

The upgrades aim to drive modern accessibility outcomes and more inclusive public transport infrastructure across regional networks.

Paul Hawthorne, Executive General Manager Rail, emphasised that the project builds upon DTI’s extensive footprint across metropolitan and regional rail networks, including key freight corridors.

“Rail is at the heart of DTI’s operations and these regional station upgrades strongly align with our commitment to delivering safe, reliable and accessible transport infrastructure.

“We are pleased to be contributing to the future of Queensland’s regional rail network while creating meaningful opportunities for local suppliers and contractors throughout the delivery phase.”

Comprehensive design works for both Rockhampton and Bundaberg stations will commence immediately, with site works scheduled for 2027.
