Denny Avenue
DT Infrastructure was engaged by the Western Australian Public Transport Authority to deliver the $100 million Denny Avenue Level Crossing Removal Project, encompassing the removal of the dangerous level crossing, construction of a rail bridge and road underpass, upgrades to the surrounding road network, and revitalisation works in Kelmscott. The project also involved the relocation of 900 lineal metres of a 100-year-old Water Corporation water main, requiring Albany Highway to be reduced from four to two lanes, with upgrades unable to commence until the relocation was completed.
Following project award, the client requested a program change to accelerate the closure of the level crossing. Through innovative products and working methods, DT Infrastructure achieved this key milestone four months ahead of schedule, overcoming significant challenges including complex service removals, landowner engagement, driveway and verge reinstatement, and logistical disruptions caused by COVID-19.
By successfully trialling new construction techniques, the team enhanced safety, sustainability, and efficiency while ensuring minimal disruption to the local community. This collaborative and solutions-focused approach not only delivered a high-quality outcome but also set new benchmarks for future infrastructure projects across the civil construction industry.
