The Berry to Bomaderry Upgrade transformed a critical section of the Princes Highway, enhancing connectivity for local communities and regional businesses. Commissioned by Transport for NSW (TfNSW), the project delivered a safer, higher-capacity road designed to support future growth.

The project upgraded over 10 km of highway from two to four lanes, with a wide central median allowing for future expansion to six lanes. Completed in 2022, the upgrade improved traffic flow, enhanced safety, and modernised infrastructure for long-term regional development.

Key construction works were staged on live roads, requiring sophisticated traffic management, while major structural works included 14 bridges and underpasses, long-span interchanges, and significant utility relocations. The upgrade also featured vehicle breakdown bays, heavy vehicle inspection bays, and a 300m cutting.

The project ensured the environment and local communities were supported throughout construction and beyond project completion. Innovative soil remediation reduced off-site disposal, fauna crossings protected local wildlife and upgraded ITS systems improved traffic efficiency.

The project actively supported local employment, including First Nations participation, and exceeded targets for workforce diversity and skills development.
